Description
Due to extensive growth and a sudden increase in workload, my client is currently looking to expand their design team with Permanent Mechanical Design Engineers.  

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to work for a well-established design and build contractor and be part of new and exciting clean & waste water project on the Thames Water framework.  

They have a remote working policy in place.

What is involved?

  • Produce mechanical design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively. 
  • Ensure that plant and equipment procured by the department is procured on time and to budget.
  • Monitor design costs and provide design services appropriate to the allowance available.
  • Produce design budget estimates and design deliverables schedules.
  • Co-ordinate designs with all other disciplines internal and external in order to ensure that all design elements are fully integrated.
  • Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
  • Ensure that design takes full regard of all health and safety requirements.
  • Reporting directly to the Design Manager
 
What are we looking at from you?
 
  • Minimum: - HNC Mechanical Engineering with appropriate experience
  • Knowledge and experience of water and sewage treatment is essential to be considered for this role
  • My client is able to consider candidates from a team level design role up to a senior design engineer.
  • Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts
