Description
Due to extensive growth and work load, my client is currently recruiting for Permanent Mechanical Fitters.

This role will be working on clean and waste water projects on Thames Water so water industry knowledge/experience is absolutely essential to be considered for this role.

What will the role involve?

  • Comply with Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems
  • Dismantle, re-assemble mechanical assemblies
  • Inspect equipment and identify faulty components
  • Carry out preventative maintenance work on plant and equipment
  • Ensure safe use of hand tools, machinery and other equipment
  • Accurately record man-hours
 
What are we looking for from you?
 
  • Previous experience on working on a clean or waste water treatment
  • Strong knowledge/experience working in the water industry
  • Apprenticeship or City & Guilds Qualification in a Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to strip, service and repair a wide range of mechanical components including Pumps, Gear Boxes, Generators, Filters, Valves and Hydraulic Rams
  • Ability to set-up and performs suitable tests to confirm the working conditions of the noted above, including the use of filtering and pressure test equipment
  • Ability to understand and use schematics and maintenance drawings to analyse, assess, and find faults within these systems
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Capable of self-checking work and to possess high personal standards with respect to Environment, Quality, Health & Safety, and cleanliness
