Our client is looking for a Senior Process Commissioning Engineer (wastewater) with extensive wastewtaer experience in a process commissoining or a science-based role to join their Commissioning team working on wastewater capital projects.
The Commissioning team manages and undertakes the commissioning of capital projects from wet testing and software testing through to takeover on clean and wastewater sites throughout the region. A Senior Process Commissioning Engineer provides input throughout the design and construction of a project, before driving the project through successful commissioning. The team
covers both clean and wastewater projects and works collaboratively with design teams, project managers, construction teams and operations throughout the life of each project. For the remainder of AMP7, the bulk of the wastewater projects involve Phosphorus Removal; the majority of which also include additional scope, such as tertiary solids removal, capital maintenance and the construction of new process stages. In addition, there are a number of larger non-P-removal schemes to deliver.
As well as working on these projects, you will be expected to work with the Asset Commissioning Manager in areas such as staff development and team strategy while having a number of people reporting directly to you.
Typical day to day activities will include:
providing technical input to project design
assisting Commissioning Engineers with technical queries
attending design review meetings and HAZOPs
providing Process Risk Assessments for construction activities
undertaking software FATs and SATs
bringing new process units online
process optimisation
process and mechanical reliability testing
What are the requirements:
As an expert in your field, you’ll have 10 years' experience on a wide range of wastewater process projects, including a minimum of five years within a European or the UK water industry. You will be qualified to degree level as a minimum within a relevant scientific or engineering field. Having a chartership is also highly beneficial.
This is a key role within the business and will require someone who is used to using their own initiative, whilst working within our Quality Management system. You’ll have good facilitation skills, be detail orientated and be an active listener.
As well as being self-sufficient, you’ll need to have good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
