An exciting opportunity has just arisen for an Electrical Project Engineer to join a successful contractor within the water industry.
This role will include coordinating electrical and mechanical water programmes.

The Role
- Responsibility for supporting the Project Manager from detailed design to handover;
- Ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental protection are consistently maintained;
- Ensuring that quality throughout project delivery is maintained and meets the business policy
- Coordination and managerial input to the design, procurement, sub-contract packages of work, DfMA/OSB, commissioning and handover process;
- Ensuring that the programme and budget are considered during the coordination and management of project deliverables;
- Review and continuously monitor supply chain performance;
- Ensure that the site teams are aware of all SHEQ procedures and are adequately audited and monitored
- Active participation in Client meetings; including attendance at the monthly Progress Meetings as required
- Ensure that the Client’s systems are utilised, and procedures followed, as required, including Conject.
- Be aware of the project budget as tendered, and use the knowledge gained to support the Project Manager
- Be aware of the project scope and monitor deviation from this scope. This would include the Contractor scope and the subcontractor scope. Advise the Project Manager as scope change occurs or is likely to occur
- Ensure procurement is progressed in line with the project programme/schedule;
- Ensure supply chain value is achieved through a competitive tendering process and challenge
- Liaison with and coordination of the assigned project delivery team including Site Management and Supervision staff, the Procurement team, the Commissioning team and the Design team
- Continuous liaison with and coordination of project support staff including SHEQ, Planning, Commercial
- Report to the Project Manager both on an informal ad-hoc basis. Furthermore, provide informal feedback to the Contracts Manager on an ad-hoc basis
- Ensure the technical solution delivery is consistent across the project from early Detailed Design to completion and Commissioning;
The Candidate
- Water industry knowledge/experience is a needed to be considered for this role
- Qualification to degree/ HND/ HNC in Engineering or equivalent.
- Candidates ideally should be from an Electrical background
- Proven record of accomplishment in an Engineering or Supervisory role with project management capability.
- Good technical background with good knowledge of own specialist discipline and knowledge of other engineering and trade disciplines.
- Current CSCS card to at least Engineer or Manager Status.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work alone, or as part of a team and supervise/ lead a team.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to all engineering trades, particularly Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering.
