Our client, a fully integrated design and build contractor in the UK water industry, is looking for an Engineering Data Coordinator to play a central role in supporting their engineering teams and driving their digital transformation and linking key data and information across a joint venture organisation.

Over the last two years, the Engineering Team within the organisation has been on a digital transformation journey, developing various innovative and sector-leading digital applications that automate design.  Data analytics is at the heart of this transformation.

You will define, develop and manage the engineering data architecture, whilst exploring other areas of efficiency and opportunity, as you make the role yours.

Key responsibilities:
  • Gather engineering data for each discipline and map this to the organisation’s capital delivery workflow
  • Create an engineering data architecture and align with other joint venture teams’ data architecture
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the joint venture, including the Digital Team, to ensure data is consistent, understood and embedded in the CAD/BIM model production process
  • Work with the end client to ensure future, effective and efficient alignment of engineering data structures
  • Train the engineering teams on the defined data structures
  • Proactively engage with key stakeholders to ensure updates and key messages regarding engineering data architecture is shared
  • Identify efficiencies with the engineering data architecture and support the engineering team to identify insights.
What will this role offer you:
  • Develop your engineering design and data analytical skills.
  • Develop your experience of design, procurement and construction, within a fully integrated multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • We will support your career development and attainment of professional qualifications if seeking, via our partner development and training programmes.
  • Grow your professional internal and external networks, amongst a number of partner organisations.
  • Contribute to our sustainability goals of reducing carbon, protecting the environment and addressing climate change within the eastern region.
  • Embrace the benefits of hybrid-working.
  • Join an organisation renowned for its award-wining innovation and develop new ways of working for the engineering profession.
Your skills and experience
To join the team on our quest for engineering excellence and digital transformation, you’ll hold a Degree, or Level 5 qualification or higher, preferably in Engineering. Water and/or wastewater design experience would be advantageous, but not essential.

More important than your industry experience are your first-class communication skills and ability to collaborate with a wide-range of stakeholders. With exposure to PostgreSQL database management and fluent in Microsoft Office 360, you’ll relish challenges and be excited by the prospect of putting your mark on our engineering processes.

If you are interested in continuing or launching your career in engineering data management please contact 01959 562572 for further information.
